Snapshot

A snapshot is a point-in-time image of your server. When you create a snapshot, you can restore the saved state of your server's data. This tool is useful, for example, if you are testing a new application, software, or changing your operating system settings.

With this manual snapshot, you have a full restore point of your virtual private server system. This feature is included with your LWS VPS.

Note: a snapshot is different from a full data backup. A backup copies your files to a separate location. Snapshots are, in a way, a picture of your server's file system at a given moment. Snapshots are used to restore servers to the state they were in when the snapshot was taken.

Snapshot retention

All our VPS plans include the ability to create and keep up to 10 snapshots for 10 days.

No other host includes as many snapshots, saved for so long, for free!

Restore a snapshot

Restore a snapshot in one click by simply clicking the Restore button. You will then confirm the overwrite of your current files.
